Beatles rarities being released to beat copyright laws

The Beatles are to release 59 rare and unheard recordings in a bid to stop their copyright protection expiring. The digital compilation includes BBC sessions, four alternate takes of She Loves You and five of A Taste Of Honey. It has not been officially announced, but a spokeswoman for Apple records confirmed the release to the BBC. Pete Waterman stunned at £1,000 Beatles record

Music mogul Pete Waterman was stunned to discover that one of his rare Beatles records was worth more than £1,000. The pop producer, 66, found out the true value of his Love Me Do promo copy from vinyl expert Danny Reddington on the BBC Radio 5 live's Phil Williams programme. Despite being reportedly worth £30 million, the pop producer cried "Oh blimey!" at the news.
